The 2022 AAU National Point sparring team, both juniors and seniors will be competing at the AKA Warrior Cup Championship next weekend. The 2022 AAU National Point sparring team, both juniors and seniors will be competing at the AKA Warrior Cup Championship next weekend. The team members are traveling from all over the United States to Schaumburg, Illinois to compete in what is known as the oldest karate tournament in America. The event will take place January 21 and 22 just outside of Chicago.
The team is made up of fourteen (14) athletes - male & female and youth & adult, along with four (4) national team coaches including Martian Amba, MJ Amba, Tracy Armstead & Wesley Lawrence, our national point Sparring director GM David Turnbull and GM Bobby Stone the AAU TKD National Chair.
Athletes will compete in both forms and sparring at this prestigious NASKA event and this will be the second time we've taken our team to this event. Team Members have done very well in the past and they are looking to do even better this year! They are eager to display their skills and represent the AAU Taekwondo program.
